School Disciplinary Matters
School Disciplinary Matters
The school believes that good discipline is an important factor to help create a positive school with a conducive environment for our students. Students learn well when there is order and discipline. While we strive to teach and instil self-discipline in our students, disciplinary action will be taken against those who violate school rules. This is to help them understand the consequences of their inappropriate actions and poor choices, and encourages them to take responsibility for not repeating their mistakes.
Students who have committed offences are referred to the Disciplinary Board which decides on the appropriate consequences. Disciplinary action meted out to the student will depend on the severity of the offence. These can be in the form of:
- Verbal Warning
- Conduct Grade adjustment
- Detention / Suspension
- Caning
- Warning Letter*
- Corrective Work
- Behavioural Contract
- Bag checks by the school
- Ineligibility for Awards, Leadership Appointments, Overseas Trips, School Team Representation
Thereafter, the errant student(s) will be counselled.
*Note: When a student has been issued a Warning Letter, his/her conduct grade will be ‘Fair’.

Anti-bullying Policy
All forms of hurtful behaviour (including bullying) —whether physical, verbal, social, or online — are not tolerated in our school. As a school, we expect our students to treat one another with kindness and respect, and we are committed to working closely with parents to nurture these values in our children. As part of the school’s student management approach,
a) School rules and values are communicated to students regularly, so they understand what is expected of them.
b) We actively encourage students to look out for one another, speak up against inappropriate behaviours, and seek help from trusted adults when incidents and offences occur.
c) When hurtful behaviours occurs, we take timely action. Our approach pairs appropriate disciplinary measures with education and support to help students learn from mistakes, make amends, and grow in character. Whether your child is the affected student or the one who has caused harm, we will engage you, enlist your help to monitor your child’s wellbeing, and also ensure appropriate support for your child. You may refer to the school’s anti-bullying policy here.
d) To make it easier for students, parents and members of the school community to share concerns, we have introduced an Online Incident Reporting Form. This platform serves as an additional avenue for reporting student-related concerns, including matters that may affect students’ safety, well-being or relationships. All information shared will be reviewed by the relevant school personnel, and appropriate follow-up actions will be taken where necessary. We encourage everyone to play a part in fostering a respectful and caring school community by speaking up when support is needed.
We value our parents as partners in your child’s education. Parental involvement is crucial in shaping children’s character and behaviour. Parents are encouraged to role-model positive behaviours and language, use ‘teachable moments’ in their daily interactions with their child to explain why certain behaviours are inappropriate, and monitor your child’s online and offline interactions. We seek your support to reinforce values of respect and empathy at home, guide your child towards responsible and compassionate behaviours, and encourage your child to report concerns/incidents to school’s reporting channel/personnel (e.g., peer support leaders, teachers or school leaders).
